The system runs on wheel based platform with rotary sensors mounted on each wheel to precisely measure and control wheel movement. The mobile animated head system has total of 7 degree of freedom, 5 for the upper head and 2 for the mobile platform. The eyes can pan and tilt, eye cover and mouth can close and open independently, and the neck can pan and tilt too. This system is fully integrated and tested. The technology behind such system evolved from Distributed Computation Robotic Architecture which was originally developed for Dr Robot Humanoid Robot. Through the integrated high bandwidth (11Mbps) WiFi 802.11 wireless module, the system can upload all the sensor information including the rotary sensor readings to your home PC at over 20Hz rate and streams audio (8Hz x 8bits) and video (up to 4 fps) to your home PC for your high level AI schemes to process. Your control commands are sent down to this mobile system at real-time via the same wireless link at a rate of 10-50Hz. With the supplied WiRobot development software components (for MS Windows 2000 and up), you get access to all these data information in standard Microsoft Windows programming environment (e.g. MS VB and VC++). With such approach, you have no limit on mobile system processing power, memory and storage any more. For users of non-Windows operating systems (e.g., Linux), we will provide the raw communication protocol for direct integration with any other system/device. With such system, you could develop your own intelligent robotic assistant, security robot or simply use it as a platform for your projects like human-machine interaction, mobile system navigation, robot behavior, image processing, object recognition, voice recognition, tele-operation, remote sensing, map building and localization etc.

New to NXT 2.0 release is a colour sensor that can be used to let the robot you build determine colours before acting on that information along with the ability to control it via a PC or Mac with the accompanying software.

With Bluetooth still present, users will get the chance to build four new models from the 619 piece set; a new version of the robot - Alpha Rex, Robocator - a fierce looking crocodile, Shooter bot - a robot that shoots balls, and Colour sorter - yes a robot that sorts coloured balls.

Other new features include the inclusion of ten robot instructions from the software rather than two as in the previous model.

The heart of the new system is the NXT 2.0 brick, an autonomous 32-bit LEGO microprocessor that can be programmed using a PC, or for the first time in the retail offering, a Mac. After building their robots, users create a program within easy-to-use yet feature-rich software, powered by LabVIEW from National Instruments.

The wheel-based platform's two 12V DC motors with Integrated 800 Count per Cycle Optical Encoder each supply 40kg.cm of torque to the i90's 18 cm (7 in.) wheels, yielding a top speed in excess of 1 m/s (3.3 ft/s). Weighing only 6kg (16 lb.), the system is light, but it can carry an additional payload of 15 kg (33 lb.). (Optional 40Kg) Sensors: i90 offers full WiFi (802.11G) wireless, multimedia, sensing and motion capabilities and comes with a wide range of sensor, camera, and audio modules, sufficient to serve in any variety of applications. The i90 offers broad expandability as well for projects that may require additional sensors, even specialized modules. Powered by separate RC servo motors, the integrated camera head can pan and tilt independently. ArchitectureThe i90's underlying technology evolved from Distributed Computation Robotic Architecture: Originally developed for Humanoid (HR) Robot. Using this approach, high-level control of the robot is maintained by a remote or local PC/server communicating by a secure wireless link. Low-level functionality is managed by an onboard digital signal processor (DSP) while computationally intensive operations are performed offboard. The result is a robot that's lighter, draws less power, runs longer and is dramatically less expensive than a fully bundled or self-contained system. Moreover, since primary processing resides in a server, any hardware upgrades to the central unit are shared by all the robots it controls. With its integrated high bandwidth (54Mbps) WiFi 802.11G wireless module, the system can upload all sensor data to a PC or server at rates in excess of 10Hz. Similarly, streaming audio and video (up to 30 fps) either for direct monitoring or for processing by high-level AI schemes is a snap. Commands and instructions sent to the i90 via the same wireless link also pass at rates exceeding 10Hz, providing real-time control and access. The i90 includes all WiRobot development software components (for MS Windows 2000 and up), enabling easy access to all data and information in a standard Microsoft Windows programming environment (e.g., MS VB and VC++). Under the approach of using a separate PC for high-level control, there are no longer onboard restrictions on a mobile system's processing power, memory and storage. For users of non-Windows operating systems (e.g., Linux), we will provide the raw communication protocol for direct integration with any other system/device. With the i90 system, researchers can develop a specialized intelligent robotic assistant, security robot or simply use it as a platform for a variety of projects built around applications such as human-machine interaction, mobile system navigation, robot behavior, image processing, object recognition, voice recognition, teleoperation, remote sensing, map building and localization etc. The i90 system is fully integrated and each robot is fully assembled and tested prior to shipping so that it arrives ready for use.

Price:£ 3,500.00

After building their robots, users create a program within easy-to-use yet feature-rich software, powered by LabVIEW from National Instruments. Downloading programs to an invention is easy. Users with Bluetooth®-enabled computer hardware can transfer their programs to the NXT wirelessly, or anyone can use the included USB 2.0 cable to connect their computer to the NXT for program transfer. The robot then takes on a life of its own, fully autonomous from the computer. The inclusion of Bluetooth technology also extends possibilities for controlling robots remotely, for example, from a mobile phone or PDA. When LEGO MINDSTORMS launched, we fundamentally changed the way people viewed LEGO building and play and helped spark the trend of affordable and attainable consumer robotics, says Jurgen Vig Knudstorp, CEO, LEGO Group. “Eight years later, we're ready to improve upon the single best-selling product in the company's history. We've developed the new toolset with expanded components and capabilities to challenge our existing community of dynamic fans. Meanwhile, the system's new software, design and 30-minute quick-start program are geared toward recruiting a new, younger generation of robotics enthusiasts.

Price:£ 179.99 Special Price:£ 169.99

The challenge lay in redesigning the Constellation system, the navigation technology, for a residential environment. Within working facilities, Constellation must often receive and send data over long distances and compete with other high-energy wireless communication systems on near spectra. The office / home environment offered the opportunity to shift Constellation's focus away from power and on to sensitivity. The resulting residential version of Constellation is low power system that can provide high accuracy with only few components. With Constellation's redevelopment complete, providing the core functions of intelligent navigation: localization, path planning and collision avoidance, followed easily. Sentinel2 derives its name both from its ability to maintain awareness of its location within its environment and also the base robot's typical application in commercial and industrial settings as a security and remote monitoring robot. As a package, Sentinel2 provides users with the base functionality of intruder detection, remote monitoring and telepresence as application modules, but also includes the Developer Toolkit, enabling advanced users to create their own tasks for the robot to serve. Moveover, the core technology is platform independent, permitting integration of the robot into any network system communicating via RS232 serial or Ethernet TCP/IP. The Sentinel2 package includes everything you need to deploy a fully autonomous intelligent robot in your office / home. Hardware components include 3 pairs of navigation transponders (additional transponders can be ordered separately), an intelligent charging station and the most robust robot platform we've developed. Once set up, the robot can patrol its environment and self-regulate its power supply, returning to the charger when necessary. These core functionalities support Sentinel2's included software modules: telepresence and remote monitoring. Also, included is its Robotnik Kit, a software development toolkit that provides the means to program your robot to serve new tasks and roles limited only by one's creativity. Sentinel2 package contents: - Sentinel2 robot - Sentinel2 Charging Station - Constellation navigation system with 3 pairs of transponders (additional transponders can be ordered separately) - Telepresence & Remote Monitoring modules - Robotnik software developer toolkit

Price:£ 6,300.99

- Servo Pack: Recommended: 12 x HS-645MG + 6 x HS-225BB

ELECTRONICS::

The p.Brain has been in development for some time but the PIC18F version lacked the processor power to perform body rotation/translation and terrain adaptation and only ran at 30Hz refresh. With this version, the same engine that previously ran off-board on a DOS machine, now runs on-board on the p.Brain and at refresh rates up to 100hz. The pBrain-ds is being developed as a single solution to any hex or octoped with 3DOF leg arrangement. The p.Brain not only does all the leg locomotion, inverse kinematics, body rotation/translation and terrain adaptation, it also incorporates 24 channels of hi resolution PWM outputs, so no need for an additional SSC! and 8 analogue/digital inputs for ground contact sensors.

The p-Brain-ds can be user configured to different leg geometry and servo types via terminal software that gives endless configuration for any hexapod design. All that changes between designs is the motherboard that the p.Brain-ds plugs into. The motherboard supplies power, serial connections and distributes the PWM signals around the body. Control of the locomotion engine is via simple serial data, either RS232 or TTL level at 9600 or 19200bps. Bluetooth control connection The control connection to this Hexapod is through a simple bluetooth serial port via the p.Brain-ds TTL control port.

The p.Brain has two serial ports that can be dipswitch configured as either control data or terminal data. In this case both control and terminal data are mapped to the same TTL port. There are future plans to add I2C control communications. Unique Coxa Design This hexapod has a unique coxa design which came about through having to make the body depth as small as possible for the V4 hexapod. Take a look at the third picture in the gallery to the left. You can see that the lower body segment is not below the coxa, but inside the coxa! This not only allows the body depth to be smaller, but also gives the added benefit of being able to remove a leg by unscrewing the coxa servo horn without the need to remove the lower body. Very useful while calibrating and for repairs! Direct Servo Coupling You may also notice that there are no servo horns being used! This design has had the servo spline punched directly into the Aluminium femur and body.

Price:£ 1,150.00

Mechanics
The X80SV is the result of extensive efforts to develop a robot that would be fast and strong, while itself remaining lightweight and nimble. The wheel-based platform’s two 12V DC motors each supply 300 oz.-inches(22kg.cm) of torque to the X80’s 18 cm (7 in.) wheels, yielding a top speed in excess of 1 m/s (3.3 ft/s). Two high-resolution (1200 count per wheel cycle) quadrature encoders mounted on each wheel provide high-precision measurement and control of wheel movement. Weighing only 3.5 kg (7.7 lb.), the system is light, but it can carry an additional payload of 10 kg (22 lb.).

Sensors
X80SV offers full WiFi (802.11g) wireless, multimedia, sensing and motion capabilities and comes with a wide range of sensor, camera, and audio modules, sufficient to serve in any variety of applications. The X80SV offers broad expandability as well for projects that may require additional sensors, even specialized modules. Powered by separate RC servo motors, the integrated camera head can pan and tilt independently.

Architecture
The X80SV’s underlying technology evolved from Dr Robot’s Distributed Computation Robotic Architecture, originally developed for Dr Robot’s Humanoid (HR) Robot. Using this approach, high-level control of the robot is maintained by a remote or local PC/server communicating by a secure wireless link. Low-level functionality is managed by an onboard digital signal processor (DSP) while computationally intensive operations are performed offboard. The result is a robot that’s lighter, draws less power, runs longer and is dramatically less expensive than a fully bundled or self-contained system. Moreover, since primary processing resides in a server, any hardware upgrades to the central unit are shared by all the robots it controls.

With its integrated high bandwidth (11Mbps) WiFi 802.11 wireless module, the system can upload all sensor data (including encoder sensor readings) to a PC or server at rates in excess of 10Hz. Commands and instructions sent to the X80SV via the same wireless link also pass at rates exceeding 10Hz, providing real-time control and access.

The X80SV includes all WiRobot development software components (for MS Windows 2000 and up), enabling easy access to all data and information in a standard Microsoft Windows programming environment (e.g., MS VB and VC++). Under the approach of using a separate PC for high-level control, there are no longer onboard restrictions on a mobile system’s processing power, memory and storage. For users of non-Windows operating systems (e.g., Linux), Dr Robot will provide the raw communication protocol for direct integration with any other system/device.

With the X80SV system, researchers can develop a specialized intelligent robotic assistant, security robot or simply use it as a platform for a variety of projects built around applications such as human-machine interaction, mobile system navigation, robot behavior, image processing, object recognition, voice recognition, teleoperation, remote sensing, map building and localization etc.

The X80SV system is fully integrated and each robot is fully assembled and tested prior to shipping so that it arrives ready for use.

The Segway x2's low-pressure tires cushion the ride on bumpy surfaces and minimize trail impact, while a continuous center rib provides a smooth ride on paved surfaces.

The increased track width increases stability on uneven ground, and the x2 happily navigates a variety of surfaces including sand, grass, gravel, dirt and pavement. Depending on local regulations, it may be possible to use the x2 on multi-use pathways but it is not intended for use on sidewalks or pedestrian walkways. Check out the Segway i2 for sidewalk use.

The x2 features Segway's new LeanSteer technology, as well as the wireless InfoKey controller. These advancements make the ride even more intuitive and exhilarating and provide interesting trip data so you can track your journey from start to finish. The long-lasting lithium-ion batteries support the power demands of the x2, while still providing up to 12 miles of off-pavement range (depending on terrain, riding style and payload). Pleo progresses through three different Life Stages; hatchling, infant, and finally juvenile dinosaur.

Pleo is a hatchling when first awakened. As you interact together, Pleo will mature becoming a juvenile dinosaur and responds to light, sound, and touch. Then the fun really starts! The more time you spend interacting with Pleo the more unique your dinosaur will become. Pleo will display emotions, play games and seek attention.

Pleo "learns" from its experiences and environment through artificial intelligence, even developing an individual personality. He incorporates all the basic traits of autonomous life. He is specifically engineered and enhanced to mimic life and relate to his owner on a personal level.

Pleo is capable of expression. He can feel joy and sorrow, anger and annoyance. When Pleo is tired, he will become drowsy and goes to sleep, will he even dream? Two or more Pleos will recognize one another. Be careful though. They can transmit colds to each other. Achoo! Pleo even sneezes!

Pleo wants to explore his environment. He will be cautious when he walks to the edge of a table. He may cry when he is frightened. Pleo will stretch when he first wakes up. He may stomp his foot for food when hungry.
Price:£ 299.99 Special Price:£ 219.99
