LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 launches for 2009

Lego has announced it's updating its Lego Mindstorms set this year, 3 years after the last version graced robot clubs around the world.
Perhaps shunning the estimated 400,000 Mindstorm enthusiasts around the globe, the new kit, labelled Mindstorms NXT 2.0, will focus on offering 10 to 14-year-old boys a good robot experience rather than trying to appeal to the hardcore fans that use the kit.

That move however hasn't stopped the company bundling in a stack of new features for the £200 price tag.

New to this year's release is a colour sensor that can be used to let the robot you build determine colours before acting on that information along with the ability to control it via a PC or Mac with the accompanying software.

With Bluetooth still present, users will get the chance to build four new models from the 619 piece set; a new version of the robot - Alpha Rex, Robocator - a fierce looking crocodile, Shooter bot - a robot that shoots balls, and Colour sorter - yes a robot that sorts coloured balls.

Other new features include the inclusion of ten robot instructions from the software rather than two as in the previous model.

The Mindstorms NXT 2.0 Lego set will be available from us later this year for £199.99.

We will be also be making the NXT2.0 available for PRE-ORDER soon!

Dear Customers,
Since taking over the iiRobotics Bot shop we have had a number of emails enquiring about our affiliate program. This will take some time to build as we are still fine tuning the all new robot shop. Rest assured that we will have an affiliate program "Back" in the future but for now, we really need to focus on expanding, improving TheRobotShop.com.

Previous members, whom were on the affiliate program for iiRobotics will be contacted and updated on the new future program 1st.
There has been another slight delay on the delivery of Spykee. The robot should be landing in the UK end of September 2008. This popular robot has had a number of delays but we feel that this email gives hope to all those desperately patient customers of TheRobotShop.com. This is the message we recieved from Meccano:

MECCANO EMAIL
"We are so sorry - new update on the Spykees : they are now expected for delivery in the UK on 29/09/08. There has been a transport delay and unfortunately it will reflect on delivery dates. Thanks a lot for your patience and your understanding."

TheRobotShop.com will of course ship out your order to all pre-ordered customers first, just as soon as stock arrives!
We also apologise for this delay but we cannot do anything about it as its Meccano's product. Hopefully you will be able to be patient for another month? We look forward to sending you your SKYPEE but for now, all the very bestand please place your orders with confidence as there is a very limited number of these robots arriving!

Reagrds,
